I am so proud of my son! Thirteen today!
We are all so tired from soccer and I don't have the energy to post much - so I'll leave it to later - but for now, I want this world to know:
David Christopher is a God-given blessing to his mom and dad! He is full of potential and talent! We prayed God for a son and gave-up after years of drugs and surgeries and decided that it wasn't in God's plan. Then I God gave me the best birthday present ever - I conceived my son!
Thank you Jesus for this boy! Oops - young man!

Almost Time
In the morning we leave for our summer adventure.
First, Colorado Springs for the FRIT tournament - Chris is playing on his 13th birthday.
Then to Oklahoma for two weeks. David will join us the 2nd week.
Should be fun.
Should be hot.

The Last Day
It seems this past month has been filled with many "lasts." The Waters leaving created many "lasts"; now the Bleger's (that was hard for Chris last night at their "last" Well service); today is the "last" day of school - for the grade they are in and at their schools because we will be homeschooling next year; today is also the "last" day our team at work is together. We have worked, traveled, cried, argued, been in the same 10x10 cubicle together - for 3 years! As our grant has ended, no one was absorbed by the district and we are all going different ways. When I finish my "last" report this summer, my job is complete as well.
"Lasts" are tricky. They can cause tears yet under the tears is an excitement, too. What new things await us? What is God doing?
Oh, the last of something really only marks the "Beginning" of something great!

Judge Not . . .
As I was dressing this morning, I realized that two of my previous posts have set myself up for examination by others. After writing about bras, tanks and peek-a-book pants, people will look at me to see how I dressed. Is my bra showing? Is my shirt too low, my pants too tight?
I do stand by what I said as far as modesty and appropriateness, however, I also passed judgement on many women. I do not know their circumstances or how they were taught. Perhaps there was no mom to teach them dress modestly. Or maybe the finances just aren't there and they are doing the best they can. Or, as in the case of Durango, they just don't care and it's me who has the problem. (I dare Stacy and Clinton to spend a day in downtown Durango during curb-side make-overs. They would be pulling their hair out in a minute!!)
But in everything there is a lesson to be learned. And mine: perhaps the reason God's word tell us "don't judge, for however you judge, others will judge you!"
Judgement not only sets ourselves up for a big fall, it also burdens us with heaviness. So I passed judgement (although God's word is pretty hefty on modesty) and now I am burdened with making sure that I live up to my own dress code!
Amazing that God uses even little blogs to teach us big lessons!
Father, thank you that you teach us in so many ways. The Word, little voices, the Holy Spirit and even our own shortcomings. Let us learn.
Lord I want to be burdened only with Your cross, not a cross of my own making.

More Fashion Faux-pas!
Continuing on a theme:
* Just because you can wear it doesn't mean you should!
* If your bra size includes the letters D, E or multiples of any letter - tank tops are not for you! Some C's are questionable!
* Tight Tank Tops are great UNDER other clothes - unless you are buff!
* Flaunting what you have does not mean you have self-confidence!
* If you are over 40, please realize you are no longer a Junior size.
* If you are over 20 - you probably aren't a junior size either. They are meant for low to no hormone gals with no hips, no figures and basically no body fat!
* Please do the bend-over test with your pants - if you bend or squat down and your backside shows, you need a different size, cut or both!

Thankful Thursday
I am thankful for my girlfriends who been beside me the past 7 months. It's been very stressful around here and this week I have felt it physically.
All the little calls, the hugs, the notes on my blogs - without knowing it, you have made my world bearable.

Things I Can Do Without
We all have pet peeves. Here's my newest:
* Ladies, your bra is not a cell phone holder!
* If God has endowed you - yeah! But hold 'em up and cover 'em up. Not every wants to see them! Or needs to see them - especially my pre-teen son!
* Nursing? Wonderful! I loved nursing! But if your child can walk over, lift up your blouse and fend for himself, please consider a sippy cup!
* Fashion advice: black bras, brown bars, patterned bras - they are to be worn under dark blouses. White bras, or preferably tan, for everything else!
